Expense Tracking
Log what your business spends, once or on a schedule. Expenses count in your profit and loss.
One-Off Expenses
Individual costs as they happen (e.g., travel, a conference ticket) - a description, amount, date, and category.
- Grouped by month, newest first
- Counts in Profit & Loss, and in the tax estimate when it uses operating income
- One year at a time: pick it at the top (your fiscal year, set in Settings > Global Configuration)
Recurring Expenses
Manage regular costs with specific views for Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly expenses.
- Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly sections
- A different amount for any month
- Copy To Next Year carries them over
Variable monthly amounts
A monthly recurring expense can hold a different amount for each month - for a permanent price rise, or a bill that changes every month. Edit the amounts right
in the Monthly grid:
- Change one month: click the month's box and type. Press Enter (or click away) to save; Esc to cancel.
- Apply a change forward: drag the small handle at the corner of a cell across the later months - or right-click the cell and
choose Fill Forward To December. On a phone, tap the month and use Fill Forward.
- Undo a customization: clear the box, or right-click and choose Reset To Base, to return that month to the expense's
default amount.
- Other years: switch years with the selector at the top of the page. To start a new year from last year's numbers, use Copy To Next Year in the Actions menu - it carries each expense's ending amount forward.
- Where it shows up: these amounts count in Profit & Loss, and in the tax estimate when it uses operating income.
Configuration You can manage your expense categories via the gear icon in the Expenses toolbar. Add categories and pick their colors there. Changes save as you go.
